About

Cohesion, engineered.

Koesion is a strategic consulting and software architecture firm. We help organizations make the architectural decisions that determine whether their systems — and their teams — can evolve.

The name is the thesis

Koesion comes from cohesion — the property that separates a system from a pile of parts. In software, cohesion is what makes a service boundary right, a platform coherent, and a decision durable.

We apply that lens beyond code: cohesion between services and the domains they serve, between platforms and the teams that build on them, between the decisions leadership makes and the systems engineers ship. When those layers pull in the same direction, organizations move fast without breaking their architecture. When they don’t, no framework compensates.

What we do

Koesion advises organizations on enterprise software architecture, digital transformation, and strategic technology decisions — with deep, hands-on expertise in microservices, Domain-Driven Design, platform engineering, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, event-driven systems with Kafka, API architecture across REST, gRPC and GraphQL, and AI-assisted software engineering.

The practice is senior-led and deliberately focused. We take engagements where architecture is the constraint — and where a sharp assessment, a well-drawn boundary, or a well-governed platform changes the trajectory of delivery.

Beyond consulting

We believe the practice of software architecture deserves better tools. That conviction is why Koesion builds and maintains open specifications and learning resources alongside client work.

Microservice.MD is our open specification for designing, documenting, and validating microservices — a structured, AI-ready design document for every service in a system. Microservice.Guru is our learning platform for microservice design: articles, reference books, playbooks, and AI design skills.

Both initiatives feed the consulting practice, and the consulting practice feeds them. What we see in the field becomes specification and playbook; what we standardize becomes leverage for every client after.

We’d like to hear about it.
